Private Writing Coach
Confident Writing. Clear Thinking. Real Results.
If your teen struggles to get started, feels overwhelmed by essays, is stressed about college narratives, or turns in writing that seems below what they can achieve, then you’re not alone.
Since 2013, I’ve worked one-on-one with students from middle school through high school, helping them become more confident, capable writers.
My approach is highly personalized: I meet each student exactly where they are and build a clear, manageable path forward. My former students have gone from nervous to confident writers, earning acceptance to such universities as MIT, Brown, NYU, and Stanford.
What makes my approach effective:
Individualized coaching: I tailor sessions to your student’s current skill level and goals. After each session, I provide you and your student with a detailed write-up of what we covered, areas of strength and growth, and next steps.
Developmentally informed: With over 25 years of experience working with students from fifth grade to adult, I tailor my coaching to students’ developmental stages—a senior’s needs are often very different from a sixth grader’s needs, and I frame my coaching around these.
Conference-based support: Through guided, editorial conversation and targeted feedback, students learn how to improve their own writing, and not just fix one assignment.
Focus on clarity and voice: Students learn how to express ideas clearly, organize their thinking, and write in a way that engages their reader.
Common areas of focus:
Analytical and persuasive essays (planning → drafting → revising).
Breaking through writer’s block and procrastination.
SAT verbal preparation.
ISEE essay preparation.
College application essays (idea development, drafting, revision).
Strengthening clarity and structure in advanced writing.
Honing critical thinking through Socratic questioning.
The goal: Not just better grades, but a student who knows how to think clearly, write confidently, and approach assignments without confidence.
